Mission Church - Sambourne
When we meet
Welcome to the Mission Church - Sambourne
‘a worshipping community at the heart of the village’
Sambourne Mission Church shares much of its membership with St Peter’s Coughton. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and active in the community. As well as being a church, this building serves as a village hall. It is the centre for social events, afternoon teas, coffee mornings and the harvest supper and available for outside bookings.
For details of Sunday services please see the chart on the 'When we meet' page. Details of special services for Mothering Sunday, Easter, Harvest, Remembrance and Christmas will be listed on the noticeboard page: noticeboard.html.
A monthly soup lunch, preceded by a simple thought for the day, happens on a Tuesday. Please check the date and time on the current notice sheet on the following link: noticeboard.html.
There is also an annual fête in conjunction with the Sambourne Minifest and we organise a stall at the Coughton Court fête.
Home groups run throughout the year. Please click the link: get-involved.html.
Mission Church is located near the village green on the corner opposite The Green Dragon public house.

Prior to 1892 Sunday Services had been held in the houses of Mr & Mrs F. Lewis and a Mr & Mrs Blackburn. On 6th July 1891 a meeting was held to take steps to raise a fund to erect a Parish Room at Sambourne. The initial aim was to raise a sum of not less than £250 the promise of subscriptions by parishioners.
By January 1892 enough money had been raised to enable plans to be explored and grants applied for. By August 1892 the sum of £319 9s 11d had been raised and more money followed.
The Parish Room was opened on Monday 3rd October 1892 by the Bishop of Worcester at a shortened evensong held at 3 pm.
